One of Lanzarote’s most visited beaches, Papagayo, reopened this Tuesday after being forced to close last Thursday after a truck emptying a restaurant’s sewage tanks crashed into the beach entrance and blocked the passage, according to Yaiza City Council. The southern council announced the reopening of Papagayo Beach after confirming the laboratory analyses detailed in the report submitted by Public Health, whose workers took samples both last Friday, July 11, and this Monday, July 14, that the water quality in the area is suitable for bathing.Due to the truck’s contents, the Lanzarote Island Council’s Environmental team conducted the necessary tests to rule out any contamination of the sand. The vehicle was removed
