Playa Blanca is one of the fastest growing resorts on the island of Lanzarote. In the past 20 years it has spread out to cover most of the southern tip of the island. There are still some undeveloped areas and parts of the resort have not been completed but these tend to be on the perimiter. The Yaiza City Council has devised a large-scale intervention in Playa Blanca, in the Costa Papagayo area, in order to improve a dozen streets in the area, through the use of an economic boost of 1.25 million euros.Initially, works are planned in the streets La Molina, La Fragata, La Bonilla, La Nueva, El Rebachal, La Concha, La Mercedes, Montaña Blanca, Hoya de Fuera and El Cobre. In addition, the creation of a new roundabout on Avenida a Femés has been planned, for the interconnection of Maciot, Fragata and Las Breñas roads. These particular roads have been singled out due to the increase of traffic.
Its hoped that all will be agreed by the end of the year so that the works can be carried out during the start of 2021, with a view that the improvements can be completed before next summer period planning a period of just six months for all to be done.
