A regulatory council has analyzed in a tasting room Lanzarote wines from 2019 and classified them to be very good. Every year an assessment takes place in accordance with the Vintage Qualification Act held by the Regulatory Council at the Castillo de San José Restaurant. This year however, it has not been cancelled due to the health crisis caused by Covid-19. This year for the qualification of the 2019 vintage, a tasting committee has been made up of six experts, who have evaluated a total of 18 wines from different wineries on the island. Among them were eight dry white Malvasía Volcánica wines, two semi-dry whites, one semi-sweet white, two rosés and five reds. Once tasted and analyzed, they proceeded to add and calculate the final result being 13 points. This figure corresponds to the rating of “very good” according to the evaluation system applied by the Regulatory Council.
