Plans are being discussed for Jet2 to resume flights to the Canaries around mid June. A meeting has been held between the airline and Canadian government to talk over implementing safe conditions on the islands and help re-establish the tourist sector which is so important in the Canaries and European market. It’s a difficult situation and depends on how things improve with regard to the pandemic and at moment the future is unknown. The Spanish president released plans yesterday on how Spain will gradually release itself from the lock down but the plan will be dependent on infections and deaths over the coming weeks. One of the suggestions is to introduce testing for passengers before boarding the plane and other implementing distancing in the resorts.
