The figures for tourists visiting the islands cultural centres such as Jameos del Agua, Timanfaya and the green Caves have taken a downturn compared to last year. An increase in the price of the entrance was planned for November but has been forwarded to January under the direction of the councils office dedicated to Art, Culture and Tourism. The increase is necessary due to the elevating costs. Last month the income reached a low leaving the office in the red. This is thought to be due to to external factors which have affect the amount of people visiting. In September almost 2.36 million euros were recorded between ticket offices, stores and restaurants, with a decrease of 5.59% compared to the same month of 2018. Compared to attractions in other parts of the world, the entrance fees to the centres are still economical and very good value for money
