The Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands have anounced that 91% of air seats affected by the closure of Thomas Cook for the winter season have already been recovered. There is an additional increase of 168,000 aircraft seats for the winter season by the British tour operator Jet2 which, together with 12,600 seats of the company Wizz Air. This ensures a total of 700,000 seats to the Canary Islands during the period of October to March next year.

Likewise, it has also pointed to the recovery of another 400,000 places by the Ving group, a subsidiary of Thomas Cook in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland, which recently announced that it will continue with the sale of tourist packages and maintaining its operation with the Canary Islands.
