Bodegas El Grifo officially began harvesting in the grapes in Lanzarote yesterday. The winery responsible for initiating this process have started with a with the grape Volcanic Malvasia and so far have managed to collect almost 1,000 kilos just on the on the first day. The second day has begun with the collection of El Grifo alongside the Volcanic Malvasia. The harvest is staggered in different viticultural areas of the island and by variety and the rest of the wineries are expected to follow suit next week. Its a sign that more good wine from the island is on its way and if you have never tried Lanzarote wine it comes highly recommended. Many of the bodegas in La Geria are open to the public with wine tasting available and bottles ready for purchase
