The roundabout in Tahiche, close to the house of Cesar Manrique, has been missing an important feature weather vane, called Fobos, for the past 2 years. The weather vane has stood in this prominent position since 1994 until a tropical storm hit the island in 2005 and brought the structure down. It was restored a year later and was in place until 2016 when it was dismantled for restoration. It is the tallest of all of Manriques wind toys measuring 13 meters. A smaller copy of this weather vane can be found at Arrecife airport. The restoration of the 300 pieces that make up Fobos is now due to be back in place for 2019 to coincide with the centennial of the birth of Cesar Manrique. Arrecife airport.
