Teguise council is investing over 300,000 euros a year by contracting a company to provide sunbeds, umbrellas and other furniture on the beaches of Costa Teguise. Nine offers were assessed by oficials and selection has been made and contacted which will contact an annual payment of 350,100 euros. However, there has been a second proposal which offers 295,500 euros per year which looks more likely to be signed.
The specific date of installation of the beach furniture will depend on when the contract is finaly signed beleived to be between May and June. Its been nearly a year since the last contract expired and the beaches in this resort have been without sunbeds. Its not unusual in Lanzarote for this to happen as a simular dispute left the beaches in Puerto del Carmen without sunbeds for a while.
