Teguise is well known for its Sunday morning activity. The island famous market which has grown and grown. Packed with shoppers and tourist shoppers and tourists arrive at the market from all over the island in droves. If you take a trip to this normally sleepy village Sunday afternoon its a different story. The popular restaurants and bars that offer live music throughout the morning continue into the afternoon and evening. There seems to be a route between the rustic style bars with the locals. A complete contrast from the morning where the streets appear to be empty but you will hear the music and if you follow the sound you will arrive at a fiesta. Depending on the bar you can expect to find a mixture of music including Latin, Canarian and Jazz. The route ends at a popular bar call La Palmera close to the new square and marque with an excellent Jazz group and s separate bar specialising in Mojitos.
