The employees of the cultural centers of Art in Lanzarote paid homage yesterday as they do every 25th September to the Lanzarote artist Cesar Manrique. Yesterday marked the 25th anniversary of the artists death. The man that is responsible for many of the islands attractions and the conservation and protection of the natural landscape. Had he still been alive I am sure that the island would have looked very different despite the intention of trying to keep the island as natuarl as possible, times move on and change is inevitable. His memery lives on and his grave in the cemetery of Haría was visited by schoolchildren and there were floral offerings from th councils of Arrecife and Haría.
