CACT is the name given to The Art, Culture and Tourism Centres of Lanzarote. The history originates from the time when the now famous artist and architect returned to the island from New York after a 3 year stay (1919 to 1992). A good time to return as the island had started to promote tourism. His main aim was to promote and preserve the islands unique landscape. His vision was backed by a keen team of islanders and the most obvious results we see today are the cultural centres of Jameos del Agua, El Campasino, El Diablo restaurant, Mirador del Rio, Museo Internacional de Arte Conteporaneo and the Jardin de Cactus.
On Friday 23rd December there is a music concert in Jameos del Agua called CACT Solidarios. Its a charity concert and if you are interested in spending a night out in this unusual setting. Tickets can be purchased on the CACT website
