The traffic radar that issues the most fines throughout the Canary Islands is located at kilometer 20 of the LZ 67, also known as the road of the Fire Mountains, according to information from the organization representing European motorist drivers (AEA). The AEA explains that through the radar at kilometer 20 of the Lanzarote road connecting Yaiza and Tinajo, the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) filed 25,375 reports in 2024, the highest number among the radars in the archipelago. According to data provided by the AEA, reports at this radar have grown exponentially since 2023 when 2,999 reports were recorded, nine times fewer than last year.
