For the bicentennial of the 1824 eruptions, an exhibition has been set up at the Casa-Museo Monumento al Campesino, with the support of several municipal departments. Admission is free. It combines documentary material, historical testimonies and scientific studies. One of the main aims of the exhibition is to pay tribute to both the witnesses of these eruptions and the scientists who have studied their impact over the centuries. Through extracts from chronicles of the time, visitors will be able to learn first-hand how the people of Lanzarote experienced those days of uncertainty and change. In addition, the exhibition offers an updated scientific approach to island geology and the importance of these events in the formation of the UNESCO Global Geopark Lanzarote and Chinijo Archipelago. This exhibition allows us to travel back in time to better understand the impact of the 1824 eruptions and how the island and its inhabitants have been able to adapt to them. The Casa-Museo Monumento al Campesino, a space that symbolises the relationship between man and the land, is the ideal place to bring this knowledge to the public.
