Puerto del Carmen hosted its first night run event on Saturday. There was a mixture of profesional and amateur atheletes taking part who ran along the main avenue from Plaza de Las Unidas in Los Pocillos to Matagorda and back with 570 people registering in total. From 19.00hrs an additional zumba event took place at the Plaza de Unides up until the beginning of the run which covered distances of 7 kilometers, 4 kilometers and 1.6 kilometers; with fast and low difficulty routes. Performance from the Báilame Schoolwere given at the beginning of each race which were half-hour apart. The City Council’s objective was to promote this area of our tourist town, giving value to its surroundings, beaches, shops, hospitality and accommodation establishments.
