This winter the popular budget airline Ryanair will open a base on the island of Lanzarote. The airline are expecting that the island’s traffic will grow to 2.1 million passengers in 2024 so are increasing their programme to 40 routes which will include 6 new routes from Belfast, Bremen, Knock, Milan, Nuremberg and Zagreb. There will also be an increase in flights to the routes already established introducing nine for city breaks, including Dublin, Berlin, Madrid and Vienna. There will be three aircraft based at the César Manrique-Lanzarote airport, which represents an investment of 300 million dollars and will generate more than 1,600 jobs, The bas will offer Lanzarote customers an unbeatable selection of routes at the lowest rates for winter getaways and will promote valuable all year-round tourism to the island which depends on connectivity and tourism to help the economy.
