All regular visitors to Lanzarote or indeed the Canary islands, will be familiar with the shops Fund Grube. They are in all the resorts on the island and are great shops that sell a mixture of items ranging from perfume and make up, jewellery and watches, to clothes, bags and shoes.
Although many will be familiar with the shops, did you know the meaning of the shop name? Fund Grube actually means treasure trove in German.
The first Fund Grube opened in 1983 in Gran Canaria and the latest shop opened was in the new Open Mall in Arrecife in 2022. There are now a total of 50 shops all over the Canary Islands.
