Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park has developed an educational program to raise awareness about ocean pollution. This activity is completely free for schools on the island of Lanzarote, is open to students in the last year of Infant (5 years), primary and secondary. The program aims to raise awareness among the school population, making them reflect on the situation of pollution of the seas, so that they become aware of the importance of protecting marine ecosystems. The Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda will be analyzed, with the aim that they can adopt sustainable living habits in harmony with nature, learning to recycle and working with a service-learning methodology with the motto: “Think global, act local”. The program will begin with the first visit on March 30, with a group of children from CEIP Ajei, and will continue throughout the 2023-2024 school year, until the end of June 2024. The education department has developed this educational program with the in order to collaborate with the schools of the island, seeking the objective that the little ones know, learn and become active agents for the protection of nature. Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park opened its doors at the end of 2002 and since its inception it has continued to reinforce its commitment to animal welfare, conservation and research, the three main principles that drove its construction.
