A historic tuna fishing vessel has been retreived by the council as it was at risk of sinking in the port of Naos. The boat called Nueva Santa Teresa is currently being restored in the marinas dry dock The ship is expected to be a star piece in the Museum of the Sea. The rehabilitation i plays an important historical part for the memory of the fishermen, an essential part of the history of an island and of a way of life closely linked to the sea. It will be an important tribute to fishermen and to serve, as a living memory, so that new generations know a very important part of the history of Lanzarote which was linked to the sea and to the history of many men and women who have dedicated their entire lives to fishing.
