After a long break the first cruz ship arrived since the start of the pandemic. It was a welcome sight as the island has become a popular destination for cruises and the seas have looked very empty around the island without a ship in sight.
The arrival of the liner Mein Schiff II is the start of hopefully a long awaited programme getting back to normal. Ther president of the Canary islands indicated that cruise tourism in the Canary Islands increased by 13 percent in 2019 compared to the previous year. He pointed out that to make this possible a demanding health protocol is carried out, with tests carried out before boarding. It is required now by law that anyone travelling to the islands will need to present a negetive test on arrival.
