Jet2 has announced that they are delaying the resumption of flights to Alicante, Malaga and the Canary Islands (Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote) until September 13. The company initially intended to return on August 30. They have also reported the suspension of flights to the Balearic Islands (Ibiza, Mallorca and Menorca) for the rest of summer 2020 until the 30th November due to the continuous uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the UK Government’s recommendations not to travel and the quarantine imposed on travelers from Spain. They have assured that they will continue to monitor the situation very closely and provide additional updates once they receive more information from the British Government. Since signing the contracts they have urged the UK Government to apply a specific approach to travel advice, instead of the current total ban approach.
