Lanzarote has its own naturist resort situated in the north of the island. Driving towards the coast from the village of Mala is a small village called Charco de Palo. The area is a mix of residential houses and small tourist compexes. This village was established around 1970 by the German entrepreneur Gregor Kaiser and remains predominateley German but is also popular with locals and other nationalities that enjoy naturism. This was the first official naturist resort established in the Canaries where nudity is permitted everywhere in the village, and practised universally. The coastal walk has sunbathing areas and natural pools which are perfect for cooling off. To the north of the village there is a man man pool which is filled with seawater. This area is surrounded by sand  and gets very busy during the summer months. If you are looking for an allover tan, this is the place to go.
