A timple (pronounced Timplay) is a small guitar with five nylon strings that is played in the Canary Islands – usually with traditional folk law music from the islands.
It is made from wood and it includes a soundboard, neck and pegbox.

There is a Timple Museum in Teguise where you can view a wide collection of Timples. Visitors will get to know the folklore of Teguise, see how Timples are made and learn about their history. The museum also offers some concerts, course and talks on the subject.
