San Juan is celebrated on the night of the 23rd June every year. It coincides with the summer solace which makes it the shortest night of the year and therefore makes it the perfect night to celebrate the start of summer.
In Lanzarote the night is celebrated by people having bonfires. This could be on the beach or locally near their homes across the island.
In Puerto del Carmen there will be a San Juan bonfire organised by the town hall. There will be a sardine bbq at 21.00 at Calle Bajamar (close to Playa Chica) and there will be live music playing.
