More than 15,0000 people decended on Puerto del Carmen on Sunday 16th March for the celebration of St Patricks Day. The event was  promoted by the Tías and Lanzarote Councils. The parade attracted an enthusiastic crowd that gathered along Puerto del Carmen’s Avenida de las Playas. From the early hours of the morning, residents and visitors came together to pay tribute to the patron saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick, and enjoy the vibrant celebration. This parade exceeded all expectations with a display of decorated floats, Irish groups, folk groups, classic cars, motorcycles, and the participants dressed in traditional costumes and extravagant outfits. There was an explosion of green, energetic music and a real festive atmosphere. The weekend was dedicated to the celebrations with music, sports activities and  entertainment. It began on March 16 at 11:00 a.m. with simultaneous Hurling and Volleyball tournaments in Playa Grande, continuing from 5:00 p.m. with concerts in the Plaza del Varadero by the groups Celtic Roots and Güerma. , The Screensavers, Tribute to Tina Turner, Tribute to Queen and Tribute to U2.
