The City Council of Tías has signed an agreement for the Management of Innovation and Technological Tourism. They want to convert Puerto del carmen into a Smart Tourism Destination. This is a resort that responds to the requirements of the present global and mobile elites by facilitating access to tourism and hospitality products, services, spaces and experiences through ICT-based tools and where a healthy social and cultural environment can be found through a focus on the resort. As a result of this agreement, a virtual meeting was held to start the project, a previous step for the preparation of the diagnosis through an audit that will result in a real assessment of the destination.
The work is structured based on the Smart Tourist Destination methodology of the Secretary of State for Tourism in which more than 200 requirements linked to the five anchors that make up a smart tourist destination. The requirements are governance, innovation, technology, accessibility and sustainability.
