The Los Dolores festivities kicked off this Wednesday, September 1 in Mancha Blanca with a clay workshop at the Sociocultural Center. The festivities will run until next Wednesday, September 15, with a “varied and adapted to security measures to deal with the coronavirus pandemic.” The programming will continue on Monday, September 6, with activities on the court from 9:30 to 12:30 (Canarian ball, cards, sports …). On Wednesday September 8 there will be a ping-pong championship, different table games and a keychain workshop in the morning.
On the afternoon of Thursday, September 9, activities will return to the court with gymkhana and traditional games. At 6:00 p.m., the Tinajo amusement fair will offer an inclusive day for children and young people with autism spectrum disorder. On Friday, September 10, the opening of the 32nd edition of the Handicraft Fair will take place from 11:00 am, which will remain open during the rest of the days of the diets. In the afternoon, families will enjoy activities such as bubble soccer and wooden games. At 7:00 p.m., a gofio masterclass will be held at the fairgrounds to reach the first musical act, at 8:30 p.m., at the Sociocultural Center of Mancha Blanca and with limited capacity, with the voices of Pedro Manuel Afonso and Luz Mila Valerón, the strings by Silvestre Ramírez and the verses by María Belén Sánchez, Guisela Guedes and Yeray Rodríguez. On Saturday, September 11, Mancha Blanca will host the chess simulcast and in the morning and evening hours the meeting and exhibition of Los Dolores 2021 kites will take place in the municipal parking lot with kites of recognized prestige. At 12:00 hours at the fairgrounds they will be able to enjoy a workshop for the whole family, under the title of “Learn to color with dyes”, and at 18:00 hours an employee workshop.
The same Saturday will begin the events with a sports tinge. At 5:00 p.m. the family trail interpreted “Las Quemadas” will start and at 6:00 p.m. the children’s race “Tinajo You Trail Chinijos” will take place, requiring both acts of prior registration. At 8:00 p.m., at the fairgrounds, a new appointment with music with Alexis Lemes and Adrián Niz. The Los Dolores festivities will continue on Sunday, September 12, with the Agricultural and Artisan Market starting at 09:00 hours. The Handicraft Fair will offer at 11:30 am the appointment with the parrandas and the music school, at 5:00 pm the traditional pottery workshop and at 8:00 pm the work “Credit” with the Cultural Association Le Comi -k Theater in the sociocultural center of Mancha Blanca. In the morning the Tinajo You Trail will be held in its different modalities, 31, 14 and 7.5 kilometers. On Monday, September 13, the fairgrounds will continue with its acts. At 18:00 the book “The rosette industry in Lanzarote since 1898” will be presented, the employee workshop will continue and then the moment of magic and illusionism will come with the Duet Impacto del Mago José Angel y Liudmila. The day will close with another gofio masterclass at 8:30 p.m. On Tuesday, September 14, the music of the parrandas and the music school as well as the traditional pottery workshop will return to the fairgrounds at 6:00 p.m. The note of humor will be put by Yanely Hernández at 9:00 p.m. at the Sociocultural Center of Mancha Blanca (limited capacity).
The Los Dolores Festivities will close on Wednesday, September 15, with the last day of the Craft Fair, which will be full of events until it closes at 10:00 p.m. There will be more party music and the music school, a family workshop on clay modeling, a workshop on obtaining and applying natural dyes and another gofio masterclass. Both in the morning and in the afternoon, at 9:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., the Eucharists will take place on the solemnity of Our Lady of Los Dolores. The last one will be chaired by the Bishop and then the Municipal Band of Tinajo “Peñas de San Roque” will delight those present with their music. The mayor of Tinajo City Council Celebrations, Jonatan Pérez Olivero, invites “residents of Tinajo and visitors to safely celebrate the Los Dolores festivities, with varied events for all ages but always safely.” “We have developed a program for the whole family but always thinking about the safety of everyone. Now it’s time to enjoy some festivities that are a bit far from what we used to have, but our people deserve to be able to honor the Virgin of Los Dolores so to enjoy but with measures of security and, where necessary, with limited capacity.
