Spain is exercising a very strict lock lockdown with regard to the pandemic which is taking over the world at the moment. Although the Canary Islands have their own government the islands fall under Spanish law which means that the countries state of alarm has to be abided by in this region. The army and the police are patrolling to make sure that no one is breaking the law. If you are a resident of the tiny island to the north of Lanzarote patrols are checking to keep everyone safe. The video below shows footage from a police helicopter of the beautiful deserted beach on the island as they verify compliance with the order of confinement in the Chinijo archipelago, where so far no Coronavirus cases have been diagnosed. This exercise has already been carried out in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
