To improve the landscape in Costa Teguise, the local council has past a bill to remove 200 palm trees which have died or are in poor condition and replace them with 550 to improve the landscape. The existing palm trees will be given a make over by cleaning and pruning. The road into the resort is lined with trees and Costa Teguise is know for its abundance Palms. They were originally planted in a random pattern as there was no real infrastructure when the the resort was built. They have now decided to take the time to tidy up and distribute the trees in a more orderly fashion around the resort. The last count there were over 1000.
