The beaches of Puerto del Carmen are the first in the Canary Islands to receive a Safe Tourism certificate
Playa Grande, Playa Chica, Playa de los Pocillos and Playa de Matagorda have passed an audit that certifies the measures implemented to minimize risks against covid-19
The four beaches received the certificate from the Institute for Spanish Tourist Quality (ICTE) confirming that they had obtained the certificate of safe beaches: Safe Tourism Certified. This certificate has been received after passing the audit carried out by the TÜV RHEINLAND organisation.
According to the City Council, «Safe Tourism is the only certificate against covid-19 endorsed by the Ministry of Health and, with this accreditation, Puerto del Carmen guarantees the correct implementation of the hygienic-sanitary protocols on its coastline to protect the users and their workers «.
