As the news comes that the FCO are advising against travel to Spain and the islands, the Canarian Government have signed an insurance policy to ensure that tourists to the islands will have their expenses paid if they contact Coronavirus during thier stay. This will cover medical expenses, quarantine and repatriation costs. The cover is for Spanish nationals and international travellers. The representative from tourism signed the agreement with AXA to cover all of the islands on the condition that the traveller must not knowingly be aware that they have contacted the virus before arrival.
