Its been announced that the Arrecife City Council will allow bonfires for the traditional fiestas of San Juan this year. There will be recommendations that everyone will have had to adhere to.  Anyone that is planning to celebrate the fiesta will have to first request permission and advise the authorities of the location. A group of people can meet but the total number must not exceed 20 to avoid crowds. The bonfires cannot be located less than 15 meters from any construction, road, power line and always without cutting any access road and maintaining a distance of 100 meters between bonfires. The time to light the bonfire will be established from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. the following day. Once finished, the person in charge must make sure that the fire is completely extinguished. In no circumstances  can they be lit on the beaches and any areas of ecological importance. The pile of materials used in the bonfire may not be composed of flammable, explosives or any other material that emits highly polluting gases. The Local Police, in collaboration with other bodies, will be in charge of monitoring the different spaces of the city, so that citizens can enjoy that night safely.
