As Lanzarote moves into phase 2, today is the day that the beaches open in Lanzarote. Restrictions will be in place to exercises social distancing. In Playa Blanca only 1 beach is open to the public at the moment. This forms a part of the gradual transition transition towards a new normality. Each of the councils on the island have the power to establish their own limitations. In Lanzarote, the seven mayors and the president of the Council have chosen to be cautious and to later analyze at a weekly meeting any incidents detected in order to apply new decisions.

In Playa Blanca, improvements have been made and the area has been disinfected. The beaches open to bathing must not only guarantee the measures recommended by the health authorities to prevent the possible spread of covid-19, but they must also guarantee the safety of bathers, in compliance with the measures agreed. there must be a distance of two meters both in the sand and in the water, except in the case of members of living families.

The opening hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.for bathing, sunbathing and walking. Individual sports activities are also allowed.

The use of public toilets, showers, footbaths, hammocks, collective sports activities, barbecues, igloos or windbreaks, mats, as well as the use of any type of games equipment is not allowed. Yaiza has installed signage on the Playa Blanca beach to remind the public of the recommendations.
