As Lanzarote continues with its recovery against the Coronavirus and moves into phase 2, the popular shopping centre in Puerto del Carmen has finaly opend its doors after being shut for 2 months. Preperations have been taking place to ensure a strict protocol of safety and hygiene. The new measures are aimed at clients, workers and suppliers. It has also developed a plan to support trade with a new agenda of events and services to promote business. The opening hours of the center will be the usual, from Monday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sundays and holidays from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The use of masks are mandatory as established by the BOE. The decision was made as the comercial centre has the advantage of  plenty of outdoor space which helps the return to businesses in the complex although leisure services in the shopping complex  will have to wait to resume their activity in phase 3. The Biosfera Plaza protocol is based on different pillars, which affect both the common areas and the entrances to the center and to each of the shops. Given the current situation and to help the operators of the shopping center, a plan to support entrepreneurs has also been drawn up from Biosfera Plaza. It includes a new agenda of events with a capacity of less than 50 people, which will be implemented from July the first. To mark the opening Biosfera will host an exhibition called «Alisios: floral composition of Lanzarote».  featuring a gallery of works by the artist Sara Hernández based on landscapes and traditions of the island. The opening has prompted a need for a new department and the management have created a virus prevention department which can be found on the website Biosferaplaza.es its website. Its objective will be to report on the security and hygiene measures adopted.
