Lanzarote has a wealth of things to offer for visitors and one of those is an abundance of fresh fish cooked to perfection. Restaurants rely on the local fishing industry to provide the best catches of the day. Surprisingly the fishing activity in 2018 in Lanzarote waters has had worse results than in previous years, both at a productive and economic level. A study has been carried out by the councils Data Center which revealed that the sales of the catches were less than 11.9 million and to find an equivelant year with such low sales, records had to be traced back to 2014 which had a lower value of the catches. In 2018 traditional fishing was especially productive where catches worth more than 3 million euros were achieved.in 2018.
