The airport of Lanzarote finished 2017 by beating its record with 7,389,025 passengers, 10.5% more than last year, which puts the island in ninth place in terms of the annual passenger volume of the airports in the network Aena in Spain.
In total, the eight Canarian airports registered 44,035,311 passengers during 2017, which represents an increase of 8.8% compared to 2016. This figure places the airports of Gran Canaria, Tenerife Sur and Lanzarote in the sixth, seventh and ninth place, respectively, regarding the annual passenger volume of the airports of the Aena enEspaña network. Of the total number of commercial passengers (43,556,583), 28,814,625 correspond to international traffic, which reflects an increase of 7.6%, and 14,741,958 to the national, 11.7% more than in 2016
