Close to the port of Arrecife Jason’s sculptures by Cayres Taylor temporaraly placed next to the Castillo de San José in Arrecife at the end of summer of 2016, will now remain there at least until September 12, 2018, after the agreement signed by the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism of the Cabildo
The agreement gives continuity, for them to stay another year contrary to the initial contract between the Cabildo and the creator. At first the presence of the four horses had been established for twelve months. It is being negotiated so that hopefully the works have a fixed presence the years ahead.
The Rising Tide is a sculptural ensemble depicting four men riding horses whose heads are oil pumps, „reflecting the great threat that looms over the planet and especially its seas and oceans.Made in neutral ph-concrete, each sculpture measures 2.70 meters high and weighs 8 tons.
