Just a few days ago Bodegas El Grifo won a gold medal for one of its finest wines The Pink Griffin in the contest ‚Mondial de Vins Extrems held in Italy.

This Lanzarote winery competed 740 wines from 15 countries, the most bodegas to compete in the history of the event.

‚Mondial des Vines Extremes‘, formerly known as ‚CERVIM – Mountain Wines‘, is the most important oenological competition in the world
Reserved for wines produced in mountainous regions or coming from heroic crops. This term refers to terraces or lands with more than 30% of slope or altitude above 500 meters s.n.m. Or small islands. It is organized by CERVIM (Center for Research, Studies, Protection, Coordination and Valorization of Mountain Viticulture) in collaboration with the Regional Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources of the Aosta Valley Autonomous Region and the Vival Association, under the patronage of The OIV (International Organization of Vigne et du Vin).
