Conil
Conil is a village situated in the municiple of Tias. One of the many sleepy villages on the island which dates back as far as 1618. Once a very fertile area and good for agriculture the village suffered from the volcanic erruptions in 1730. A layer of sand and tephra covered it completely which all the 17 inhabitants were buried under.
Moving on it has been one of the places which has taken the interest of film directors and was featured in the film Mararia based on a novel by Antonio José Betancort. One of the things you will notice are the mansions which are dotted across the countryside
