I know what your thinking! When you live on an island where there is not much in the way of livestock and vegetation due ti the low rainfall, I suppose you start to look at what you have around you. After all the french eat horses and frogs and in Korea and some asian countries they eat cats and dogs. Doesn’t sound so bad now does it? Of all the meats in the Canaries, goat is by far the most popular. Goat meat can be found wherever you go although each place has it owns way of preparing it.
Starting this Sunday 29th January, Teguise will be celebrating a month of goats meat at the market between 9 and 2 o’clock. Its the start of a series of gastronomy events that will be taking place from January until June. A chance for tourists to try the local dishes
