A new park will be opening soon in Tias. Work on the park is close to being finished and the local mayor has confirmed that the facilities are ready and wainting to be used. All that is missing is the water and electricity connections and then the park will be ready to go. The park will be called Parque Municipal Tajinaste and was paid for by the local council and Lanzarote council. The park is hoped to promote outdoor exercise for all ages whether it is just walking or part of an organised sport. Features include a landscaped area with an abundunce of different types of plants, a children’s playground, shaded areas with pergolas, calisthenics equipment, a skate park, sports courts,changing rooms, a dog park, a bar-cafeteria, and public restrooms.
