One of the largest world tour operators TUI have been studying under one of its divisions specialising in experiences and guided tours the popularity of Google Searches that include surfing, diving, kayaking, or snorkeling in 500 European islands. The popularity of water sports contributes 10% of global tourism spending with growth forecasts exceeding 17%. The study concludes that Lanzarote is the fourth most desired island in Europe for practicing water sports.Of Lanzarote’s nautical offerings, the study highlights Famara beach for surfing and the coast of Los Ajaches and the cliffs of Papagayo for kayak routes. Second place is taken by another Canary Island Tenerife, which is popular for surfing and snorkeling. Fuerteventura lands in sixth place as a great destination for windsurfing and kitesurfing,thanks to the constancy of the trade winds and the optimal conditions offered by areas such as Sotavento or Flag Beach.
