The very popular and fun festival „Holi Lanzarote“ will this year be celebrated on the 5th April from midday until 20.00 at the Plaza de los Naciones in Los Pocillos, Puerto del Carmen..
The colourful event returns with music, dance and lots and lots of colour. There will be DJ’s, Bollywood dance shows, Indian street food stalls, LOTS of colour powder and a foam party!
Holi is a Hindu Festival mainly celebrated to welcome the spring, symbolize the triumph of good over evil, and promote social unity, leaving winter behind. Known as the festival of colours, it represents love, joy, forgiveness and renewal. Breaking barriers of social class, age, or gender. It is a day to forget grudges, forgive, apologize, and reconcile, promoting brotherhood and equality.
During the celebration, participants take to the streets to throw scented coloured powders and water at each other, dancing and singing to celebrate the joy of living.
