The city council of Haría in the north of Lanzarote have aproved a project aimed at strengthening the protection
and conservation of the Canary black bee. This is a native species and considered to have great value for the 
environment.Protecting the Canary black bee means protecting the biodiversity the landscapes and also the Canary Islands:
beekeeping,Black bees play a fundamental role in the balance of ecosystems and in food production, which is why public administrations 
must be involved in their protection. keepers, fostering more sustainable practices in public spaces, and promoting the protection of this species
throughout the archipelago.Among the actions promoted by the City Council is support for the beekeeping sector that works with the Canary black bee
as well as a commitment to promoting more responsible use of plant protection products in municipal green spaces, encouraging ecological alternatives,
and reducing the use of chemical herbicides.The initiative also aims to strengthen the recognition of this native species at the national level and to present the 
proposal to the Canary Islands Federation of Municipalities so that it can be debated and endorsed by other municipalities on the islands.
