Lanzarote is currently experiencing the after effects of more rain than normal and all around the island, the usual volcanic pieces of land are covered with lilac and yellow flowers. The areas close to Playa Quemada and Puerto Calero have become quite a new tourist attraction (maybe more so for residents) and people are flocking to see the flowers and greenery and take some pretty photographs.
For those of you wondering what flowers they are
The Puerto Calero flowers are a light pink colour (Matthiola tricuspidata).
The Playa Quemada flowers are a darker purple (Echium lancerottense).
Lanzarote has never looked more beautiful!
