The Timanfaya Moscatel Dulce Selección 1999 wine has been awarded the Gran Zarcillo de Oro, the highest honor given at the 2025 Zarcillo Awards, which recognizes a select group of wines of superior quality and international prestige. Furthermore, the winery strengthens its list of awards with a Zarcillo de Oro for its Malvasía Dulce Natural, an award it shares with the Flor de Chasna wine from the Abona Designation of Origin (Tenerife). The island completes its dominance thanks to the Silver award obtained by El Grifo Malvasía Seco Colección, underlining Lanzarote’s presence in this edition. The Zarcillo Awards, one of the most prestigious wine competitions in Spain and a global benchmark in the world of wine, are supported by the International Organization of Vine and Wine (O.I.V.) and the World Federation of Major Wine and Spirits Competitions (VINOFED).The word ‚tendril‘ refers to the first non-foliar organ of the vine shoot, which allows the vine to climb and expand by acting as a support. In its 2025 edition, the competition evaluated more than 1,300 samples from various countries through blind tastings conducted by a panel of more than 90 renowned national and international experts, using rigorous criteria of quality and technical excellence.
