The proposal to add a new breakwater next to the beach of Los Charcos in Costa Teguise continues to suffer knock backs with defects being found in the plans by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demarcation of Coasts in the Canary Islands, Permission has also been denied to create a new artificial beach in Costa Teguise which would be the fifth, in an area next to Los Ancones. There is hope that the plans for the breakwater will be resolved in this new year. The breakwater  will contribute to better care of the beach, where the loss of sand is frequent, due to the influence of the tides of area. As for the artificial beach, it should be noted that it was requested years ago by the European Touring merchant, the entity that has been executing since 2019 the construction of a new five-star hotel in Costa Teguise, not far from the only top-class establishment in the zone.
