A large scale installation of charging points for electric vehicles in the 7 municiples has been asked for by the Tourist Federation of Lanzarote. The demand is based on rental companies are incorporating a significant number of electric vehicles into their fleets. The rental companies are finding them difficult to market as there is a limitation of recharging points. It has been agreed that it is necersary to have an infrastructure service distributed throughout all the municipalities and especially so in tourist areas. Work is taking place to open recharging points in a short space of time at the Monumento al Campesino. In addition, the presence of similar infrastructure has been planned in various areas of Arrecife.
