The famous Nativity Scene (Belen) of Yaiza has returned to this quaint village after missing last year due to the pandemic. The nativity was inaugurated last Friday, 3rd December, by the deputy mayor who recalled that the scene was not just the representation of the birth of Jesus Christ but is also a tribute to the ingenuity and historical work of the people of Yaiza and Lanzarote. The Yaiza Belen is the Nativity with the longest tradition on the island and one of the most visited.
