A 3rd plan has been put forward by the council of Tias with regards to the modernisation of the old town area in Puerto del Carmen. The area is in need of some improvements to re establish it as one of the main tourist resorts on the island. An office has been opened in El Fondeadero to act as an information centre for the proposals. The plan includes renovation interventions in nine accommodation establishments, renovation of two shopping centers, replacement of a commercial building, Area for working out with sports equipment and the renovation and expansion of a theme park.
